Tequila Lime Marinade

Ingredients

  • ½ cup tequila
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, for balance)

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl or blender until smooth.
  2. Use immediately or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  3. Marinate chicken, steak, shrimp, or vegetables for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for poultry) before grilling or roasting.
