Tomato Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Tbs. Olive Oil
- 1 Onion, chopped small
- 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 28 oz. can Tomato Sauce
- 20 oz. can Diced Tomatos
- 3 tsp. Tomato Paste
- 1 cup Sweet Marsala Wine
- ½ tsp. Salt
- ¼ tsp. Black Pepper
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Oregano
- 1 tsp. Basil
- 1 tsp. Thyme
- ¼ tsp. Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- Browned ground beef, sausage, chicken or meatballs. (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- In a large pan over medium low heat add the onions and cook for about 5 minutes, then add the garlic and continue cooking another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the Tomato Sauce, Diced Tomatos, Tomato Paste and Marsala Wine and bring to a simmer while whisking to combine and disperse the tomato paste.
- Add salt, black pepper, sugar, oregano, basil, thyme and red pepper flakes and stir until combined.
- If making meat sauce add it now. (optional)
- Simmer for 45 minutes stirring occasionally.
