creamy chicken
4 chicken breasts or thighs
salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp paprika
2 tbsp butter or oil
creamy gravy
3 tbsp butter or reserved pan drippings
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2½ cups whole milk
½–1 tsp black pepper (to taste)
salt, to taste

season the chicken season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
pan-sear until golden heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. sear chicken on both sides until golden. remove and set aside.
start the gravy in the same skillet, add butter or drippings. whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
add the milk slowly whisk in milk until smooth and creamy.
simmer together season with black pepper and salt. return chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer 15–20 minutes until tender and gravy thickens.
